Cool to see my and also @drxdunlap.bsky.social ' s recent work put into dialogue with Malm. For a few years there it felt like Malm was taking all the oxygen for analysis of ecological struggle. My work tries to reorient analysis of social transformation to be more engaged, pragmatic & ethnographic

While taking back the land is the goal, it requires sustaining and preparing through lives of migration and laboring off the land to make it real.

Solidarity to Toronto, where car people sitting in traffic want to rip out bike lanes so they can sit in traffic.

Their experience and ours in Berkeley shows that exercise, safe transport, and decarbonization are no match for sitting in traffic 🤷🏽‍♂️

One way of thinking about this is to see how protestors are shutting it down now, in the actually existing present. I joined and thought with protestors who raised blockades to shut down industrial plantations and logging operation to uphold their sacrifices and spur new action.
