1935 National Trojan. I bought it from Ken Hamm (who has owned it twice). I believe Bill Johnson owned it for a bit. Paul Deslauriers is quite fond of it. I don’t really gig with her, but I wrote and recorded Sulphite Boogie on it. She’s a beaut!

Tomorrow’s vinyl is laid out and ready to inspire the BB King chapter for my book! BB is definitely one of the first guitar players that my ears picked up on when I was a kid. Little did I know that one day I would be invited to play on stage with him!

It’s been nice to be home to write my book and my fuel is my vinyl collection! Fun to dig back through it. This album was a life changer for me. My buddy Ken Hamm let me borrow a cassette copy when I was a teenager and it sent me reeling! Raw, real. I instantly became a true Blues Snob ™️ !Son House!

One of my favourite blues artists is Elmore James. Due to his early death at 45 years old, there aren’t many photos of him, and no film that I am aware of. One good thing about the interwebs is discovering new images, like these here. Elmore ALWAYS wore a suit and tie onstage!

I was first shown this image by Lancelot when I was on tour with Johnny Winter. Incredible capture! Hubert Sumlin, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter and BB KIng! I have been fortunate enough to meet all of these fine gentlemen and even work with a few of them. We only have Buddy now.

Paul Rodgers rocking a Flying V with Free. Broke a string! Tetsb is on bass, so it was late in the band’s lifespan. Not sure if Kossoff had left at this point. Paul is incredibly talented and (ironically) undersung, in my opinion. I met him once and had a pic with him, but it was never forwarded!
