"Why am I addicted to this shit?" I say, as I keep scrolling.

Welp... I genuinely wanted to give it a try a while ago but I went with Krita instead since Affinity Designer doesn't work right on Linux. Looks like I made the right move.

Then again it's not over yet, but yeah. Doesn't look good.

I was able to find and interact with other indie game devs, got my own indie game business rolling, made friends in niche communities, and generally had a lot of opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise.

...and also it contributed greatly to my anxiety. You gotta do it in moderation.

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?
davidjayindie.bsky.social
Those cucks are actually retreating hahaha

As a furry: oh my sweet summer child...

... and they'll still find ways to say that we're the ones against freedom of speech.

To be fair, Arduinos were pretty expensive. Raspberry Pis are where it's at!
davidjayindie.bsky.social
Lmao yeah that's exactly how it happens every single time.
One hundred trillion dollars bill from the bank of Zimbabwe.

Of course, it's also dependent on the contracts you sign during your lifetime, so you want to be transparent about your intentions when making partnerships.

Legally speaking, even after your death, your work stays an "asset of your estate", ie your family or business partners. You can however specify, in your will for instance, what happens to it when you die. You can even put your work in the public domain at any time during your lifetime if you want.

Yeah I don't agree with the idea that that quote would be a yes, considering the "nothing" in question most likely means what you already have as a person, and I would disagree that a gen-ai model is made of "nothing".

That last quote is totally what ai bros think, though lol

By the way, the story of Bob Ross and how the Kowalskis basically owned him like an art slave, is part of the reason why, in the unfortunate event of my death, everything I created during my lifetime should enter the public domain. No exceptions.
davidjayindie.bsky.social
It's a low hanging fruit, but god damn I laughed xD
davidjayindie.bsky.social
Bob must be turning in his grave so hard he's basically Sonic the hedgehog.
davidjayindie.bsky.social
God, the irony in there is just incredible... Poor (real) Bob Ross.
davidjayindie.bsky.social
Well yeah Nick, that's the whole point!!
davidjayindie.bsky.social
It's a social media platform. The *point* of this place is that everyone can take part in any conversation lmao
davidjayindie.bsky.social
Yeah I mean can't you just drag and drop your wads on gzdoom.exe or something? How's that difficult at all?

Maybe they're still using a LeapFrog and don't know how a PC works.

I can kinda understand their point of view, and it's not a problem per se, but it becomes one if you go around trying to sleep with said gay person when they're clearly not into it, or worse, sabotaging their relationship because you're jealous and/or you want to "cure" them. I've seen that before.
davidjayindie.bsky.social
That's awesome to hear honestly!... the diabetes thing I mean, not the wifi nonsense.
davidjayindie.bsky.social
I used to be fat too, it's cool.
davidjayindie.bsky.social
Maybe we can get them camo-painted mobility scooters.
