When I was in hospital last year one of the targets I set myself was to make the pilgrimage to Bushy #parkrun which I finally succeeded yesterday. What a fabulous experience ❤️

Celebrating 1 year since I gained the nickname ‘Defib Dave’ after successful resuscitation at Bognor #Parkrun. This week I was also able to donate a new defibrillator to Hunters Lodge. #LearnCPR

Fab trip last week to the Uni of Salford for an academic conference. I managed a lovely run around Salford Quays & even saw the Blue Peter garden. What a geek I am.

This is thrilling news for those of us at the University of Portsmouth who study & research policing and collaborate with police forces. Congratulations particularly to @sarahc2612.bsky.social for leading the successful submission

I keep reading about ontology & epistemology yet it feels like I am looking at one of those 3D magic eye pictures that I just cannot see. Can somebody make sense of these words for me?! 🧐

Can someone explain to me how Trump’s supporters particularly those with Jewish heritage can live with his close alliance to the neo-Nazi Musk? Is it simply a preference for power over ideology?

I am currently reading a lot of articles about research ethics as I prepare my ethics application about my own research (about ethics in policing) and I’ve discovered Jeremy Bentham. What a dude that guy was. The fact you can still see him at UCL shows that he felt the same about himself!

This article does not apply to U.K. schools. As someone who helped write the c.2009 Safer Schools Partnership guidance & who deployed officers in schools I know this improves safeguarding, students feel safer, are rarely criminalised & the impact is felt way beyond schools espec when incorp with NP.

After 16 days in hospital custody I am finally home. I cannot speak highly enough of our wonderful NHS, the staff at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth but most of all the amazing young people who resuscitated me after my cardiac arrest 💚💙❤️

Currently a resident of QA hospital in Portsmouth following a cardiac arrest.
The NHS is wonderful & staffed by a tremendously diverse workforce. I am also very lucky to have such a great view from my window ❤️

The fact they have to highlight the peaceful transfer of power tells you all you need to know; at its heart America is not peaceful. Or free for that matter. Violent, hateful & fearful.

I posted this image on Twitter in 2016 during a period of toxic discourse following Brexit & then Trump’s first election victory.
I was then forced out of my job for apparently being “anti-Government” whereas I perceived myself as anti-hate & anti-fascist.
Seems appropriate to post it again.
