Also that binding for a Text() versus TextField()

Staring at the screen and I want a SwiftUI view for editing AND viewing a complex SwiftData model. I would have done this in macOS/iOS as a view with a controller with and editing state. I grok the solution but it seems so odd for a redundant for a single HStack to transform based on a flag…

Wrote some XCTests last night (can’t use SwiftTesting for a few reasons right now) and it ran incredibly slow on an Intel Mac. I wonder if Apple even cares about Intel Macs now?

All I’m trying to do is flush out a SwiftData model for an app concept and it feels tedious.

SwiftUI is a great innovation that will hopefully evolve in combination with the toolset. Still, I feel we have lost something important with no visual representation of models and UI bindings. Xcode needs to up its game.

The complexity of SwiftData versus CoreData is interesting. I recall the model schema and bindings in Mac OS X that made creating an editable data model and AppKit interface easy. Mind you, it wasn’t pretty when you started. But you molded it to be nice.
