Truly an insane run of items for the Westminster City Council.

On Tuesday, the OC Board of Supervisors will vote to direct the Registrar to remove non-humans from voter rolls. This item, from the two Republican members, comes after a Republican woman was caught registering her dog.

Huntington Beach is getting a multi-million dollar OCTA "Complete Streets grant. The staff presentation, however, does not use the phrase "complete streets" once. Perhaps that name is too woke for them (but the money is not, apparently).

SHOCKING to me that an OC city would implement a density-based housing project moratorium, but it's to prevent projects that are too LOW-DENSITY. Westminster plans on having MINIMUM density requirements in their housing overlay zones, we love to see it.

This sidewalk simply does not cut it if there are gonna be two major centers next to each other.

The Orange City Council on Tuesday will receive a presentation on the "vision" for the West Katella gateway area that can complement future OC Vibe and Riverwalk developments across the river in Anaheim. My biggest question: how to get between the two safely

I imagine "FREE" was one of the main drivers of student ridership on Metrolink. I hope they can sustain these numbers with the 50% discount.

Out of all the Orange County cities, I did not expect the City of Orange to be one to consider a resolution banning ICE (and other Federal law enforcement) from wearing masks.

It's just a bit ridiculous that the El Toro Water District will be voting on raising their residents' rates at 7:30 in the morning during a Special meeting (rather than a regularly scheduled one).

Huntington Beach City Council got called out by the @aclusocal.bsky.social for Brown Act violations.

Their response: "We didn't do it, but if we did, we'll stop."

Santa Ana will consider a resolution opposing SCAQMD Clean Air Rules... that were voted down last week. Truly don't understand the logic here.
June 15, 2025 at 3:14 AM
Fountain Valley's City Council will be meeting in a special closed session meeting to discuss anticipated litigation relating to an officer-involved shooting.
May 10, 2025 at 3:04 AM
A new aquarium, butterfly exhibit, laser maze, and more may be coming across the street from Medieval Times in Buena Park. Staff reports that significant progress has been made, but the developer needs an extension from the current timeline.
May 10, 2025 at 2:51 AM
The Irvine City Council will consider allowing OCTA to acquire its land in order to widen a freeway... ugh
May 10, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Instead of the SFH pattern they have now, would be great for something denser next to the station.
May 8, 2025 at 2:58 PM
OCTA's new Wave card will offer free two-hour transfers and automatic fare capping! It's planned to launch in October.

This is going to be so much better than the mobile QR code that I can't get to work half the time.
May 3, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Huntington Beach will be banned from receiving Measure M2 funding for 5 years (!) due to mistakenly charging $29k to M2's Local Fair Share funding for a staffer who doesn't work in transportation.
May 3, 2025 at 4:03 PM
NEWS: Mike Carroll has resigned from the OCTA Board. Mayor Larry Agran will now have the opportunity to select the next OCTA Board member at next Thursday's City Selection Committee meeting.
May 2, 2025 at 8:29 PM
I've heard good things about other Community Land Trusts so it's cool seeing Laguna Beach supporting the creation of another one.
May 2, 2025 at 5:41 AM
🐐🐐: Laguna Beach plans to hire goats for wildfire prevention.
May 2, 2025 at 5:33 AM
RAILS TO TRAILS: Fullerton will vote Tuesday on a construction contract for the Union Pacific Trail from Highland to Independence Park.
May 2, 2025 at 5:17 AM
Fullerton - bizarrely - opposes CA High Speed Rail. This is despite Fullerton being a potential station option, which could bring massive economic development potential.

Like...look at this.
May 2, 2025 at 4:46 AM
Speed Humps Stopped: In a Laguna Niguel neighborhood, because speed humps received *only* 59% approval of residents, they will not move forward with that and instead only go with stop signs at 10 intersections. They're also planning to paint over some excess roadway width.
May 2, 2025 at 4:43 AM
NEW BIKE LANE: San Clemente's S. El Camino Real from Avenida Mendocino southwards will go from having no bike lane to having a buffered bike lane if their City Council votes next week to approve construction.
