I’ve always wanted to do a hot dog w eating competition. But I don’t want to be known as the guy who won the hot dog eating competition…

I only eat 4 hot dogs a sitting because a whole 8 pack is too far passed social acceptability 😅

I just watched whatever was on Toonami 🤷‍♂️

Those membership levels getting a little low, huh?

I have some nodes. Unfortunately in my area there’s exactly zero activity.

Same problem I have with VHF/UHF around here… no one is interested.

Fair enough! That would be great to see.

I don’t know how you would do this. I have had to spend time in feeds before I really got a sense of their quality. Feeds already have likes so being able to see most liked feeds seems the easiest.

But outside quality, seeing if you prefer a feed would require some knowledge about its rules.

Build a feed that runs some (simple-keyword, advanced-ML, or both why not) analysis on what you’ve liked before, pluck off posts that look like them. You could even inject some percentage of posts that don’t fit to allow exposure to new content.

This feels entirely doable with feeds as they are.

Okay I’m following now. To my understanding, feeds are just rules engine services that filter off posts from the firehose. They’re free to use whatever ranking they like.

I agree that decoupling the content from the ranking would allow new, hot, trending views of the same feed. Which would be nice.

This totally makes sense. Finding feeds in app is not easy now.
November 22, 2025 at 3:30 PM
This is interesting. Can you point me to what you’ve written on it?

I personally love that atproto and Bluesky allow for third parties to create feeds.

I could see them having like a reference implementation to “show how it’s done.” But then they’re short on devs like everyone else. So why prioritize something like that when it’s already solved?

I’ve wondered when and where we’d see armed citizens “monitoring” their operations with slung ARs.
November 16, 2025 at 12:30 AM
And I believe it’s actually within a hundred miles of the border OR any international airport.
November 16, 2025 at 12:27 AM
That’s too much credit for them.
