People remember Spiro Agnew because he was forced to resign as vice president after being caught accepting bribes in the White House. But what about his views on Jews? Why did antisemites and Holocaust deniers support him?

One significant difference between the UK and the US is that British people remember Oswald Mosley but Americans have forgotten Francis P. Moran.

Here's something I wrote for parshat vayigash. Herbert Hoover and Yosef both provided food to nations. But both also ended up with a bad reputation.
Let me know what you think.

I've been listening to Two Seconds non-stop since @lilyray.nyc posted this. What a great sound. Hard to imagine they were only teenagers when they recorded these two albums.
Almost 20 years later, I finally built a page for the two-piece, all girl, indie rock band I played drums in when I was 16 - Two Seconds.

Check out our story, our music, and some pics and videos too. Don’t judge my 16 year old awkwardness. 😅🥁

The bicycle was voted the most important invention of the last 200 years by BBC Radio 4 listeners. They might be right. The bike changed the world. And so did Yaacov in this week's Torah portion. Check out what I wrote and let me know what you think of it.

Parshat Toledot, concrete canoes and rebar. What do you think of my latest Parsha blog?

Internal strength
Like reinforced concrete, law and justice are things we take for granted; only when things go wrong do we pay attention to their potential collapse (Toledot)

Hey Tightrope quiz masters, I don't think I know anyone who makes a point of calling it "break fast." Perhaps the question could be, "...which ends with the Ne'ila prayer."

Come and learn from the Texas horned lizard how the exceptionally long-lived folks of Genesis unintentionally blocked all knowledge of everyone else alive at the time.

Why does the Torah not give specific names to fish? Why was Pliny convinced that every land animal had a marine counterpart (we still see that in many of the names sea lion, sea horse, sea cow)?
Let me know what you think of this blog I wrote a few years ago.

I've tried to keep away from social media this week.
But I felt the need to come here and share about an Arab friend who lives in a village near Efrat. I've spoken to him several times since the war started.

In 1655 Rabbi Menasseh ben Israel came to England to convince Oliver Cromwell to readmit the Jews to the country. Many were already living there, and it did not become officially legal for Jews to move to England for centuries. But they did come back

Parshat Ki Tavo – To the ends of the earth
I'd like to see the curses from this week's Torah portion convert to blessings (and soon!), just as an Amsterdam rabbi used this text to instigate blessing 360 years ago (Ki Tavo)
