Even their Falling Behind scenario includes spending hundreds of billions of £'s on renewables. They didn't produce a 'Do Nothing More' option.

No, neither I nor NESO assumed that fossil fuels or petrol cars are free. I went to great lengths to explain why NESO cost estimates are too low. They underestimate the cost of renewables and overestimate the cost of gas-fired electricity by making up high carbon costs.
