#UnconfinedWalks largely thanks to the rain I haven’t been very good at photos this week. Out a bit late today, so here are the lights of the City of London from Richmond Park

#UnconfinedWalks rather a lazy day and already getting dark by the time I headed home from central London

#UnconfinedWalks A little breezy and roads still rather damp overall, but otherwise a beautiful lunchtime ride
January 16, 2026 at 7:20 PM
#UnconfinedWalks lovely misty morning
January 14, 2026 at 1:16 PM
#UnconfinedWalks Didn’t get round to posting yesterday lunchtime’s photos. A few hints of brighter skies. Definitely none of that today, though the ride in wasn’t quite as wet as the forecast suggested it might be

#UnconfinedWalks Park in one of its bleaker moods today. Nice to see a big herd of fallow deer though. And I saw a jay on Priory Lane on my way to ringing in the morning
January 11, 2026 at 4:50 PM
#UnconfinedWalks Still cold but a bit brighter. Paused by Beverley Brook to eat some chocolate. Little egret flew over my head and landed a little way downstream. I think the jackdaw was hoping for some crumbs

#UnconfinedWalks No photos yesterday as weather was far too grim. Got out at lunch today though when it was starting to clear up a little. However temperature 4°C feels like -6°C. That’s some windchill!

#UnconfinedWalks Still ice on the ponds at work when I took a brief lunchtime stroll
January 7, 2026 at 9:02 PM
#UnconfinedWalks Didn’t really go out until after dark as I was waiting for my bike to be ready to be picked up after its service. So just a brief wander to take out the recycling and I noticed this peony starting to push up despite the snow
January 6, 2026 at 9:21 PM
#UnconfinedWalks bright and frosty again this morning on my way into the office
January 5, 2026 at 1:48 PM
#UnconfinedWalks rather a cold day

#UnconfinedWalks more from the tow path (from Hammersmith Bridge heading upstream)
January 3, 2026 at 7:23 PM
#UnconfinedWalks had to take bike to the shop so it can be serviced, so went the long way around on gravel as much as possible (Tamsin Trail Kingston Gate to Robin Hood Gate, Wimbledon Common, Putney Heath, Putney Park Lane and back round the tow path to Richmond). Still snow in places
January 3, 2026 at 7:23 PM
#UnconfinedWalks a dusting of overnight snow in Richmond Park and back home in Kingston. When I left central London it just looked wet
January 2, 2026 at 11:59 AM
#UnconfinedWalks a canalside amble to start the year
January 1, 2026 at 5:25 PM
#UnconfinedWalks Monday was limited to transport interchanges as I made my way back to London (no photos). Yesterday, cycling across Richmond Park on a sunny winter afternoon and later through Hay’s Galleria on the way to dinner and then Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre

#UnconfinedWslks Whitmore Bay beach, Barry Island

#UnconfinedWalks The other way other way around the Taff this time. If you look closely at the base of the wall there was a wren skulking around. I saw a pair of common merganser/goosander on the Taff too but there was too much vegetation to get a photo

#ConfinedCocktails Asti Martini so far while things cook. My dad would have appreciated the whisky too, but this is our tenth Christmas without him
