Respectfully disagree. Time Out of Mind in 1997 is universally a top 5 Dylan album and kickstarted his resurgence that has never ended. Maybe Van’s 80’s output is a matter of taste, but Poetic Champions, No Guru, and Avalon Sunset are widely considered high water marks in latter day Van by many

Certainly Bob Dylan and Van Morrison (starting with Them) easily qualify. So does Richard Thompson, with Fairport Convention, and then with wife Linda and solo.

Not meaning to get overly pedantic, but some of these don’t seem to be debut singles. For instance, I always thought Prince debuted with Soft and Wet, while the Police started with Fall Out. Definitely minor singles compared to the breakthroughs you’ve included, but still…
