Trump/Musk is flooding the zone, here is how you keep up: Trump taking cash bribes from oligarchs in exchange for power, Oligarchs steal from US gutting safety & opportunity for working families, Trump/Oligarchs doing horrible things to innocent people to distract US from their crimes against US.

Hey @jaketapper.bsky.social does fact the President is living in a fantasy world, and deploying military based on delusions a problem for US? Or only a problem if he were a Democrat?

Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

Turns out Republicans are pro-right-wing-extremist speech, not pro-free speech.
davmicrot.bsky.social
Also, shout out to all of the Media & Political Elite who told US for the last few decades that the Republicans were the party of Free Speech, because they demanded we all listen to right-wing extremists as a pretext for squashing any speech that counters right-wing extremism.

Trump "We took the freedom of speech away"
(1) Illegal & unconstitutional
(2) Dystopian & dangerous

Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

If Trump has control over raising & lowering taxes, spending, war & peace, laws & enforcement: he could just end the shutdown whenever he wants because he would be an authoritarian.

Imagine being 10 years into this, and a full grown adult whose job it is to write about politics, and write down for the entire world to see that you think Trump is serious this time about having a healthcare plan.

President Trump hinted at being open to a health care compromise that could end the government shutdown.

The pledge has Democrats keen to make a deal — and conservatives eager to blow it up.

What if the next time Republicans close the federal government, we don't care, because we already have redundant services provided for by the collective of Democratic states?
davmicrot.bsky.social
We should be having open discussions about what happens if Trump & Republicans keep federal government closed for prolong period of time, can we provide our own healthcare, air traffic controllers, etc. Democratic states should pool resources and get going on keeping our people safe & provided for.

Corporate Media is mainly consumed by mainstream Democrats yet completely focused on appealing to right-wing Republicans who will never trust or consume their product no matter how much right-wing disinformation they spread & how much they attack mainstream Democrats. It is an insane business model.

I love NPR's non-news programming, but their news division false-equivalency-driven amplification of Republican disinformation is *dangerous to US*

President Trump is bucking tradition and legal precedent in pushing to deploy the National Guard to Democratic-led cities like Portland, Oregon, and Chicago due to what he says is rampant crime and to support his crackdown on illegal immigration.

Crazy how NYT can fly reporters all over Midwest to interview every upper-middleclass white dude in a diner, but cannot figure out how to get one reporter to Chicago to report that it is *completely peaceful*
davmicrot.bsky.social
Any Corporate Media not pointing out that Trump is *lying* about situation in Portland & Chicago (which is all of them) is collaborating with Trump in spreading lies.
davmicrot.bsky.social
Situation in Portland & Chicago is so bad that every image of them from Republicans & Corporate Media, used to prove need for Confederate occupation, is either faked or from different place/time (e.g. CNN's images from 1992 riots in LA).
davmicrot.bsky.social
It is so peaceful in Portland that Corporate Media (CNN) posting pictures of 1992 LA riots while pushing their pro-Trump disinformation about need for Confederate soldiers in Democratic cities.

My new op-ed with @lkfazio.bsky.social:

Trump sent a 'compact' to our universities. They should reject this devil's bargain.
Any institution that yields to these broad and intrusive demands would forever be subservient to the whims of the government.

We need organizations that formally bind Democratic states to help coordinate our collective welfare from threats & neglect by federal government: healthcare, disasters, infrastructure, public safety.

Taking step back: so weird that I am simultaneously keeping eye on Phillies game (hoping for a comeback), while frantically preparing talk for tomorrow, while regularly checking BlueSky to make sure government has not started invasion of Chicago/Portland. Mix of normality & terror is mind-bending.

Trump: Chicago & Portland have been burnt to the ground, all residents are dead

Mayors/Governors of CHI/IL & PTL/OR: Nope, actually very peaceful here

Corporate Media: there is no way to know the truth, so we are just going to amplify what Trump told US
