Sue & I are of Irish Canadian heritage & we ended our participation in the Toronto march for Gaza‘s starving children at the Irish memorial, remembering that famine. Seemed appropriate.

Here are 2 of the candidates running in my riding of Spadina-Harbourfront- it’s really between NDP Norm Di Pasquale & Liberal candidate Chi Nguyen here. I like both candidates but had to go NDP as I’m opposed to more pipelines & the Liberals are afraid of the words Gaza & Genocide! Hope Carney wins.

#PopeFrancis has died on Easter Monday. He was the most progressive Pope in my lifetime & I hope whoever replaces him follows his example. Rest in Peace & thank-you for standing up for the poor and suffering, and confronting those in power who are responsible for it.

Sorry to hear that Dave Allen, bassist of the Gang of Four and Shriekback, has died. I photographed him with Shriekback in Montreal in 1983 and later in NYC. Barry Andrews I’d met earlier in Toronto at the Edge when he was with XTC in 1979. www.indyfoto.com/shriek.html?...

Oscar winning Palestinian director Hamdan Ballal is in finally in hospital receiving treatment, after his ordeal of being viciously attacked by several illegal West Bank settlers and then kidnapped by Israeli police from the ambulance he was in.

Hamdan Ballal, the 2025 Oscar winning Palestinian co-director of the Palestinian film “No Other Land”, has been seen, allegedly released from Israeli police detention. He had been brutally attacked by West Bank settlers, put in an ambulance, but then removed by police and detained.

I guess my last year’s trips to New York & LA can now be considered my farewell tour… I’d boycotted the US during #tRUMP’s 1st fiasco as President & intend to again. Avoid visits to the States. #ICEolateTheUSA first or you might find yourself in an ICE holding tank being shipped to who knows where.
