Six puffins in a trench coat.
I think it's just a NA vs. UK potato variety disconnect, b/c the Thanksgiving dish called "candied yams" or "candied sweet potatoes" are the orange type which taste much more like roasted butternut or acorn squash than the starchier Yukons, Reds, & Russets used for mashed/baked potato recipes.😊

Yep. Their assessment is accurate, so...

NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT!

They call it 'the present' b/c it's a gift, no time to waste!

Imagine spending the holidays not having to monitor social media, guys!

Git while the gitin' is... err... better than nothing!

Whichever aphorism works, just GTFO.

Was it the long belt that goes down to the iron drive? Those are super-duper easy to replace (got a kit on my desk right now!) b/c they come as a length & you size it to your machine/cabinet when putting it on.

If it's a different one, it should be easy to find but may need more ID beforehand.

The only possible upside to being an asshole to a staffer or intern is the infinitesimal chance of accidentally contributing to development of musical genius. 😄

Yeah, Google habitually kills or downgrades great features.

I don't like relying upon extensions b/c their ecosystem is a recipe for abandoned projects, but I think the closest thing to a fully equivalent GUI-based replacement is going to be one of these:

Love repairing uncoated/full-grain leather stuff for use + resale, & also occasionally wondering how the hell someone managed to damage something in a certain way.

Absolutely no clue how this strap made of saddlery material got partially severed or why... quilting thread? was the literal stopgap.😂

I thought I could handle a peek very early in fully switching over here b/c I hadn't really "been myself too close to the sun" on this acct yet.

One of my 4 blocks was a fellow woman from TX, similar age, similar politics & interests, and I AM HAUNTED WONDERING WHAT I DID. So... no more peeking!

They might have packed their own dry goods (mylar bag + oxygen absorber + food-safe buckets), but if not, it's probably prep products like this.

The 10lbs rolled oats go on sale occasionally ($20-25ish) and IMO they're best for massive oatmeal-choc cookie baking "emergencies."

Is it freight size? Those large equipment updates are WILD.

Small ones can be as well, of course. Look at the China/Alaska/Tennessee update day this package (which is going to involve fk knows how much tariff import tax😫) had coming from Malaysia:

Oh man, heelers. 🥰 A family member rescued an emaciated cattle dog who'd been dumped by a ranch for being born missing a paw to their working dogs.

I didn't know Heelers had people eyes before meeting him.

(He was stressing about thunder here & had commandeered his spaniel sister's bed, lol)

My understanding is that they're somewhat stingily prescribed b/c a whole pad is truly a maximum safe dose & thus they're dangerous if misused. But the worst levels of skin pain, like shingles, benefit greatly from them.

If it's real (or even if it isn't), both orgs should add, "Nothing beats our ball room" to their Series messaging vernacular.

(With resplendent pics of their "ball rooms," of course)

IDK anything about anything except the bandage.

Surgery drains, tattoos, etc. are often covered or stabilized with film bandages like this, so the wrinkles aren't odd or unusual.

Koolerz inexplicably made my day with these two one-word reviews of a local Asian grocery's Maine lobsters.

I've seen ppl mention moving to a Linux distro after Win10 EoL.

If ya just need an OS not working alive with clankerlice, you'll do fine w/ just the GUI.

If you've been fixing fam/friends' Windows woes for decades, consider getting the latest versions of these texts.

Melville's delightfully accessible 1986 translation of Ovid's Metamorphoses. 🥰

Referencing ~250 myths & published as Rome was itself metamorphosing from Republic to Empire, this work is for Western storytelling what protein biosynthesis is to planetary life.

Further suggestion the Mouse was hit hard by Jimmy Kimmel cancellations:

I didn't join in canceling Disney+ b/c it had just renewed the day before that whole inordinate shitstorm + maga gaslighting session.

But I'm going to cancel now b/c this is a fkn ridiculous fee/increase.

I've learned to make many things I regarded as impossibly miraculous during childhood.

But there's something extra magical about finding a *whole book* about making those things. And doubly so again when the book is by a master of teaching techniques via photo & text.

Can't risk burying the lede on this one:

The Rocketman coffee table book companion to the (tragically underrated) 2019 jukebox musical Elton John biopic contains Dexter Fletcher & Taron Egerton casually generating a response .jpg I can feel in my very soul.

@komaniecki.bsky.social is tired of AI slop & asked for book covers!

*cracks knuckles*

GOOD NEWS! The only book collection curation I've practiced in ~40 years of avid reading is saying, "Hey interesting book, marie me & come live in my kondo."😂

First, a collection from the OG stipple king!

🥰🥰🥰

The Redwall I have handy is a later reprint of my favorite cover era for that series (grabbed this one for my niece).

The illuminated-style cover of Mossflower ("Long ago, before Redwall Abbey was built, there was no freedom for Woodlanders..." caught my eye at a book fair in 5th grade...

Yeah... The past decade has taught me I'm somewhat more out of touch with how fellow Americans view things than I'd thought...

But the moment I heard Cuomo ripped a "won't condemn Hasan Piker" apropos of nothing & thought normal folks surely saw him fully shift to this:
