Tbh I have noticed a lot of anti-assimilationist, counter-culture queer people who are nevertheless obsessed with pop culture far more than the norm and whose concept of real queerness never goes beyond entertainers with the right aesthetics (and whom their mom doesn't like)

When I lived in NYC, every time I mentioned that I volunteer for NYC Pride I would have to brace myself for a sneering conversation about "corporate pride" and needling me on if I've considered the Queer Liberation March

Both red state and blue state liberals have this issue. Purple state libs stay winning.

It's getting to the point that when I see a stereotypically hunky dude claiming he has Bernie politics and is running for office, my alarm bells start to go off. It's such an easy grift.

someone once asked why an ex-Jeb! guy like Tim Miller is doing a better job of relentlessly promoting Dems than the ex-Obama guys, and I said that an ex-Jeb! guy is comfortable with being uncool, but Obama alum got a taste of coolness and never recovered

I think a lot of their questionable decisions lately can be chalked up to "they are now middle aged and no longer capture the youthful zeitgeist, and this has put them in both financial and emotional crisis"

Idk, I keep hearing "Dems never used performative wokeness!" on here but when I go back to dig into the archives of 2020-2022 messaging I find many, many examples of every policy being filtered through an academic social justice lense by elected Dems

Idk, I keep hearing "Dems never used performative wokeness!" on here but when I go back to dig into the archives of 2020-2022 messaging I find many, many examples of every policy being filtered through an academic social justice lense by elected Dems

Does she, though? Ever since the rise Bernie, the MO seems to be to promise the moon way outside of your potential power, accuse your opponents of being feckless centrists for pointing that out, and then blame the "Establishment" when it doesn't get done. People fall for it every time!

Not a fan of how running for congress has become something for political influencers to do to boost their profile. The needs of their specific district are usually an afterthought to the campaign in favor of their social media brand
