A good question to ask yourself is, "do I actually have any software that requires Windows?" If all you do is browse the web, use social media, email, write documents, or do accounting, then you could probably move to Linux and keep your existing hardware.

@liztai It's "OK" if you do everything the Microsoft way and love AI. For anything else, not good.
I have to manage 90 classroom machines with local login accounts, and it's constantly nagging to add a Microsoft account. There are also lots of bugs and UI quirks that irk many users.
