While we might expect the singer-songwriters of the 1960s to be a high-water mark for narrativity, we find the opposite: narrativity has been steadily increasing, largely due to the rise of the strongly narrative genres of hip hop and rap.

Flying back today from a circuit of some (not all!) of the great DH centers in Germany (Darmstadt, Bielefeld, Leipzig and Würzburg). Such great energy and amazing people moving the field forward at each one. I'm bringing back lots of ideas.

So long Paris! #CHR2023 was a fantastic conference; great to catch up with so many colleagues and meet more all doing fascinating work. I’ll definitely be sending work there in the future. (And I’m bringing back a bag full of the souvenirs that matter.)
