There are reasonable—indeed important—ways for authorities to respond to allegations of officer misconduct, adding context and missing information while offering empathy and suggesting that authorities are taking the incident seriously and have reviewed or will review it. This isn’t it.

A lot going on here, but a religion note: DHS Assistant Sec. Tricia McLaughlin refers to Rev. Black as a "pastor" here — using quotation marks.

It's a notable slight against a faith leader's status, as Black is, in fact, an ordained minister of a church operating within the Presbytery of Chicago.
This footage is from almost a month ago. What this clipped video doesn’t show is that these agitators were blocking an ICE vehicle from leaving the federal facility—impeding operations.

Over and over again, law enforcement ordered these agitators to move off of federal property so the vehicle could move. Law enforcement verbally warned these agitators that they would use force if they did not move and stop impeding operations. They did not comply.

Shortly after, rioters began throwing rocks, bottles and launching fireworks at the law enforcement officers on the roof.

At the time of this incident, this facility held criminal illegal aliens including gang members, drug traffickers, and other violent criminals. Obstructing law enforcement puts officers, detainees and the public at risk. If you are obstructing law enforcement you can expect to be met with force.

And, as an aside, this is the same “pastor” who flipped

Kristi Noem posted on X today a “Drug Boat” video parodying the “Love Boat” theme, about Trump blowing up boats suspected of running illegal drugs. x.com/kristinoem/s...

Johnson will be the first sitting Speaker to take calls live on C-SPAN since 2001, apparently.

Anyone else think @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social should call in and ask Johnson to swear her in over the phone?

Do you think (failed AG nominee) Matt Gaetz watched Pam Bondi’s hostile, evasive, sycophantic testimony yesterday and thought “whew, dodged that bullet,” or “that should be me”?

Yes, the President of the United States called for the jailing of the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois, but don’t miss that last night he re-upped his insane, dangerous rant of bad medical advice

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is in Portland meeting with ICE, Border Patrol and DHS officials; Nick Sortor posted video of Noem saying a prayer for the safety of their officers at the start of the meeting.

"Its a good time to be an American born criminal."

28,000 federal law enforcement agents have been detailed to ICE for immigration efforts (including almost 1/2 of DEA agents and 1/3 of ATF agents). I spoke to @themarshallproject.org @journo-beth.bsky.social about the impact.

Fess up lefties, who is behind this? (Whatever it is; I have no idea what she’s talking about.)

… I don’t like to extrapolate from small, selectively released bits of text, but it sure seems to confirm that Kirk & TPUSA took positions based on the financial gain for Kirk and TPUSA, which usually meant the priorities of big donors, but could also mean the priorities of popular speakers.

TPUSA spox Andrew Kolvet, on the Charlie Kirk show today, confirms the screenshot is authentic, from a group text exchange. (Says it shows that Charlie couldn’t be bought.)
dbernstein.bsky.social
Candace Owens posted this purported text exchange, as part of her allegation that Kirk was about to reverse support for Israel. Owens is nuts, and I ignore any claim she makes. I just enjoy the notion expressed here (maybe true, maybe not) that TPUSA chose Tucker over a $2 million donation.

Trump, to Canada PM in Oval Office: If Harris has won the election and continued what was happening with “transgender for everybody and windmills all over the place” I’m not sure we would still have a country.

Apparently yesterday CNBC’s real estate reporter Diana Olick said something skeptical about FHFA’s Bill Pulte’s plan to talk big home builders into building more housing, and so far Pulte has tweeted angrily about her five times, with a promise to reveal other things she’s ever been wrong about.
