The nice thing is that with the type of movement of bullets and ships, they stay mostly sorted from frame to frame, so yeah bubble-sort would just work, swapping the occasional items crossing lines.

I tried to translate the store page though, but since I don't understand Chinese I had to use automated translation, and I have no idea how good or bad it is!

Hardware back then was often limited in the number of sprites per horizontal lines so had to reuse sprites using multiplexing, which meant entities often had to be kept sorted vertically.

I would use that to restrict the checks to a vertical slice.

Actually realized that the Bamboo Studio filament cost was not properly set up, so that's not 0.54 kr for the box insert, that's actually over 8 kr, but in the grand scheme of things that does not change much the final cost!

It's possible that it would have been easier to catch the attention of publications, but the whole point of the exercise was to see how hard it actually was to publish an indie game without using any of my contacts in the industry, and without using any of the resources at my job

Well, I do work from home, I'm just referring to an old nightmare from where I was kid where I would go to school and other kids would start to laugh at me because I forgot to dress :)

Nope, but I'm going to achieve a life long nightmare: Being at work in my pyjamas! (There's an office party tomorrow)

Thanks to all the suggestions. I did not have the right stuff to use paint, so I used a combination of other things, including the tea/coffee, skuff marks, sanding, putting stickers (after all Ford Prefect is a traveler, so he personalized his own guide)
Good enough for tomorrow!

I like the idea of also putting stickers, I can totally imagine someone having this book with the big Don't Panic logo adding stickers from places they visited, like the local barista or football club or whatever.

Like I prepare some coffee, and I use the content of the filter to rub on it like if it was some dirt?
