Damn. That makes so much more sense than what was going through my head. The geek in me is throwing a temper tantrum for missing the whole “relative to the container“ thing. Thanks!

You got some ‘splaning to do (or my logic just needs to kick in).

In your final example ‘ width: clamp(100%, 50vw, 800px);’, how does the 100% minimum not conflict with, or at least pick a fight with, the other values when the width is ‘50vh’ or larger?

Asking for a friend 🤓

With sooooooooooo many things on my plate to 'crastinate, I figured "What the hey, lets give it a go".

I think it’s fine, especially with the explanation. I have to admit, my first reaction was “yeah he was planning to do this the whole time“. But your explainer makes so much sense. I would even say give it a couple more days so people have time to see the notification.

I hope you have nothing to worry about. No stipends here (don’t get me started) but I am looking forward to pouncing on this thing once it’s released.

Good luck @joshwcomeau.com !

Fortran. Ironically, that was also my first language later in college . . . On punch cards . . . As a theatre major.

Although I also realize the shirt is probably part of the theme.

I think some of what makes the left background look good is contrast to the foreground. Maybe the right would do better with a different color shirt?

Congratulations Kevin. I don’t think I’ve watched all of them, but I can probably say most of them.

Can’t wait for a chance to wrap my wee little brain around this and give it a big hug. ❣️

Bachelor of Arts and most of an MFA in theatre: scene and lighting design. Back then, frontend was, well, we don’t talk about those things in polite society.

A little more wordy than I would have liked, but it's waaaay past my bedtime. (Sorry C, my up-in-the-middle-of-the-night-with-an-infant are three decades behind me. But do have fun with yours!)

I agree that there seem to be more possible pairs in the first example. I don't think I get the question and it might have something to do with "where each number is in each array". Maybe I'm just being dense, but I don't follow what that means. The answer doesn't fit what I imagine that to mean.

It's not as common as it used to be, or at least the DEFCON level is lower. It's much easier to discuss with the designer options for turning the piece into a website. In most cases they realize they are coming to a web guy for that expertise. On the other hand, there are still assholes out there.

Left-handed baseball glove (for the right hand) is all I can think of. I golf and bat right handed. By the time I tried left-handed scissors I was so used to right-handed that it just felt weird. Sometimes in school I would flip a spiral notebook over and write in it from the back.

I noticed you didn’t give her the $150 Apple keyboard. Probably wise.

So, they eliminated the post of one of the three or four most important people who work there? Know there’s foresight for you.

I’d hire you on a sec, but you don’t want to work here. Thank god you are so fucking marketable.

Good luck my dude!
