Ultimately transit advocates will continue to lose until we start refusing to play a game that is rigged against us. Stop negotiating against ourselves. Stop trying to decide which limb we will hack off. ST3 is the most popular thing in this city. We should act like it.

Sometimes there are trade offs, but this zero-sum fixation is a poor and inaccurate model of public opinion. Lots of people are doing lots of different things over huge amounts of time. The idea that *at the margin* Van Hollen's activities with KAG *hurt* senate dems chances seems obviously wrong.

Did you even read the article? He's arguing in favor of Kamala's framing and rebuttal the environmentalist counter. Are you saying there isn't an anti-gas&oil element of the Democratic party? Because that would be the lie.

I agree with Ryan's analysis here. It's worth taking time to find the right SDOT director.

Wilson's choice for a permanent SDOT Director will tell us a lot more about her vision for the city's transportation director.

I see today's announcement as much more about someone who can competently keep the ship running while at the same time representing a break from current leadership.

Didn't @theurbanist.org do an article the day after the amendment vote days with a chart of that? I know I saw something here, but can't remember the source.

I do think the idea of transfers and walking more than a couple blocks is a conceptual barrier to entry for many people, even when it's the better option.

Not really a contradiction. He's saying when its done by people on the right it's good and justified.

*by 'do this' I mean pull the reports without requiring a PDR.

I was about to say, don't they usually do this for other reporters? I know I see policy report narratives in the West Seattle Blog all the time usually within a day of their initial report. Really disturbing they would treat you this way.

2. Bluesky's main value is discussion and info sharing within the left of center world. It is crucially important to have a place to do this where MAGA is not present. We're not convincing normies here and that's fine. We're learning, plotting, growing. A MAGA-free place is key to that.

I'd bet good money the clips making fun of the interview got far more views than the interview itself.
