DC Comedy Writers Group: Trash Talk https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9969288414 Icebreaker: What’s in your junk drawer? Examples: Menus from take-out restaurants when all I do is order from Uber Eats. A broken chain, knotted, that I swore I would straighten out someday, like my life. All of the dried-up pens that I stole from work. Exercise: Personify your trash can. Allow it to judge you or give you unsolicited advice. Examples: You say you’re decluttering, but you just moved it to recycling like a coward. I don’t stink. What you are smelling is the truth that you don’t want to face. Compost is just a hippy word for rotting vegetables. (If the exercise does not spark joy, use the idea of trash as an inspiration for jokes.) Trash can that talks.
