So true. This is from my just-published family and personal memoir Standing with Underdogs.

In my first Ottawa City Council meeting, as a newly elected councillor, I questioned why public members of city advisory committees could be reimbursed for driving expenses in order to attend meetings, but not for bus fare or (gasp) some incentive for walking or cycling.
Laughter ensued!

Negotiating memo to Putin:
Withdraw to 2011 borders, remove land mines, pay reparations, reduce size of military, repair Chernobyl sarcophagus, return abducted children, apologize to everyone for the inconvenience (and rape/torture/murder), resign, surrender to Int'l Court of Justice.
The end.

I'll even consider coaxing the EV to the Pacific shoreline if the opportunities are big and numerous enough. Send me your best ideas, contacts and offers please.

Pathetic, abysmal and suicidal come to mind.

I, however, still have a political voice and a vote. These Liberals aren't likely to get mine again.
Fool me once, but never twice!

I was wrong on both accounts.
So far the Carney government has been an ecological disaster, closer to Ford and Trump than to Trudeau. I feel deceived and distraught. I am seeing an utter cave-in to everything oil and gas wants, while the climate crisis worsens by the day.
