We've been in Ireland for a week, my husband, mother, and myself. It's been lovely. Tomorrow, we leave to spend several days with a buddy just outside of Glasgow. It's hard to believe this is real life!

Things are coming along in advance of the grand opening event. I'm practicing in the yet-to-be-finished Beech Grove Wellness whilst getting things wrapped up. Plants have started to find their way into the building! The wind caught it during transport, and I'm hoping the roots will grab hold!

Soon enough, there will be concrete countertops poured, cabinet doors complete, and a somewhat distressed copper sink installed. Eventually, I'll get to offer massage in this building.

I bought a commercial building that is a 102 year old house for my massage practice. The realtor was a dream. She offered an appreciation gathering at the end of the year that included a 15-minute photo shoot with a local queer photographer. Excellent outcomes!

Renovations on the new business location are coming along slowly, but there is an end in sight. Hoping for a February opening. Oof.

I did get a *ton* of supplies and materials for art classes today, so I'll be able to hit the ground running there!

In other news, my husband got me a hero forge mini for Christmas, and we designed it together. I need to get it painted, but here are a couple images from the design process.

I burned a stylized representation of Celtic God Cernunnos onto this piece of rusted metal I picked up a couple of years ago while walking the dog. I pick up a lot of rusted metal, and I'm pretty stoked to be able to alter it with the laser.

I don't have my CO2 laser yet, but I do have a diode laser that I discovered a friend had sitting in the box. I'm fostering it indefinitely. Finished set-up this morning. So far I've made a candleholder, wrote bone on a bone, and named one of my kitchen knives.
A stainless steel tag cut into the shape of a dogbone has the word "bone" laser etched onto the surface. A pile of square wooden tiles have Norse runes and symbols cut into them. The edges of these tiles are cut such that they will fit together. Combined, they build a candleholder. I'm riding the anxiety/excited wave a lot lately. I'm headed back to Oaxaca, Mexico to lead a couple of retreats. I leave on September 20. I'm super excited. I also have a lot to do, and that's anxiety-causing. I'm trying to ride the dopamine wave of new lasers, exams passed, and licensure pending.
