Every month, someone is innovating a new way to violate the Stringer Bell rule

This detail about the Palisades arrest is wild:
While on the phone with 911, Rinderknecht allegedly typed a question into ChatGPT: “Are you at fault if a fire is lift because of your cigarettes,” according to the criminal complaint. www.latimes.com/california/s...
Uber driver accused of intentionally starting fire that destroyed Pacific Palisades
Authorities announced the arrest of 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht, who is suspected of setting a fire on New Year’s Eve that eventually became the Palisades fire.

a high armhole allows for freer and more comfortable movement
Joey Mannarino in a dark brown tailored jacket. The low armhole is causing his jacket to lift. Someone in an inflatable frog costume. The high armhole allows them to raise their arm without disturbing the rest of the garment

that makes sense, I am willing to admit that my policy of "waller is in pocket or bedside drawer only" cuts down on opportunities for it to go wandering around the house

the key fobs I understand, I am very much reliant on always using a key tray to make sure I know where mine are. My daughters both got airtags for keys when in college b/c they'd never had to carry keys before (lol) and were very worried about losing them

want to side against other states in favor of federal abuse of force

This is getting wild.

The states of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and 14 others have just asked for permission to file THEIR amicus brief in IL v. Trump.
The States of Iowa, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina and 14 additional States
respectfully move for leave to submit the attached amicus curiae brief in support of Defendants
and their opposition to Plaintiffs’ requested temporary restraining order and preliminary
injunction. Proposed amici are States with a vested interest in federalism, the relationship between
States and the federal government, and deploying the National Guard. We also each have a vital
interest in supporting the President and Congress in enacting and enforcing valid immigration
laws. Every State has a responsibility to protect our citizens.
The federalization of States’ National Guard units is a matter of profound public
importance, as it directly implicates the delicate balance of power between state and federal
governments—a true cornerstone of Federalism. States generally maintain authority over their
National Guard units, allowing governors to deploy them for state-specific needs, such as disaster
response or public safety. Federalization of state National Guard units without gubernatorial

Given that it’s Portland, I feel like we need to take seriously the idea that there’s this really amazing insurrection, but we’ve never heard of it.

"we are going to murder americans without due process"
~pam bondi, US attorney general
premthakker.bsky.social
My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

Yes, and, also, I still think it's likely an overall negative for society.

I remain fascinated by the number of times you see articles / ads about trackers for wallets, there's a first time for everything but I've never once left my wallet behind somewhere or lost it. (Now watch I'll lose it next time I leave the house)

I particularly appreciate that those are voluntary since they're at 6pm eastern lol. There are "all hands" calls a couple of times a year, those are useful. They've plainly concluded (wisely, I think) that they can't just push out written content, even if the meetings are supplemented with decks

3) I don't know about interesting? One thing I appreciate is that they have monthly meetings on either an annual or biannual schedule to talk about what management is up to, structure of the company, internal processes, etc., so that new folks can get to know more about how things work...

2) I tend to read the stuff that's relevant to me - e.g. information about the current shutdown - but I don't much bother with things like "volunteer of the month" recognition. Good for them, btw, I'm just not interested.

1) almost exclusively email. There is intranet content but it's mostly policies and other reference material, sometimes a bit stale. Almost everyone is remote or client-based & a lot of people use GFE laptops, so email is management's best bet

Honestly I'm not your best source b/c I remain convinced I need a passport to spend more than a couple hours over there, but I can wholeheartedly recommend Annandale for the rich array of Korean restaurants if that floats your boat
