Do people not understand how file compression and texture sizes work or do they just think there's some magic trick to make textures really tiny that no game devs are using for some reason

I'm convinced as somebody who plays more old games than 99% of people that anybody who says modern AAA never puts out any good games doesn't actually play new releases they just complain about them online
