I agree with IL Governor—this is eventually meant to interfere with elections in ‘26.

Quietly, peacefully protesting the out of state NG is expected and an honored form of dissent!

Those racist will either have a heart and not comply—or America will turn on Trump in a flash!!!

That’s strategy—but the press must be there and the video must be on every form of media, immediately.

However, look at the IL apartment raid—same people, dressed up as military, with Blackhawk Helicopter, and military weapons and vehicle.

America was incensed! It was a redline for average Americans…they are watching now.

Yes, sadly I know. I’m counting on it being different with the National Guard—bonafide military. Those masked goons have the element of surprise and rarely are caught on TV cameras.

Masked ICE grabbing people off the street, as bad as that is, can be dismissed by Americans as border control./1

Won’t he be seen as escalating the situation—will he be blamed if one of his NG is killed as a result?

And if TX NG is hurt—won’t that create a cascade of violence?

If peaceful protestors are met with NG Violence—an obvious unequal match, it’s Trump who gets blamed!

Public Opinion is the game changer in the short-term and long-term.

Public outcry,from Red & Blue states, will drive TX NG home.

Seeing the Authoritarian crackdown on peaceful protestors will alter public opinion, and turnout at the next election!

The suggestion to use people to block roads—as opposed to a poster’s suggestion that IL Gov send his NG to confront the TX NG—as a roadblock. That just plays into the power struggle that POTUS wants.

Better to set IL up for success—if roadblocks are necessary—with a photo op of PEACEFUL PROTESTORS!

Seriously,go back and read about the peaceful demonstrations in 1965; they were met with violence and broadcast on the nightly news. Americans were shocked—and said ENOUGH!!!

Not what I suggested at all. There are are methods for unraveling the tenuous power of a rising authoritarian. We should look to them. Peaceful resistance, recording the authoritarian’s drastic response, turns the tide.
Block those roads with 1000s of protestors—have the Press there! Think Selma!

Authoritarians love bold defiance—it allows them to crack down harder and solidifies their power!!!

What hurts them are strategic non-violent resistance—that helps normal people within ICE and Texas NG to see the resisters as humans —giving them an opportunity to turn away from the authoritarian!

We do that and then Trump declares martial law (which he is itching to do), sets curfews, and racist Texas NG go door-to-door removing people of color—citizens and non-citizens.
The masses can’t move about freely to resist—then what?
Next he illegally calls off the November 4th Elections—then what?
