I spoke at SF City Hall yesterday about street safety, something I care deeply about as a parent.

🚗 48% of cars speed on our block
😡 3 vehicles clocked over 50 mph
🚸 90% of pedestrians hit at 50 mph will be killed

I’m gamify learning Golang by solving Project Euler puzzles.

The most painful part so far has been clearing my progress from 15 years ago when I went through the puzzles in Mathematica.

This is how far I got last time before moving on to other things:

Over 25m miles Waymo insurance claims for property damage occur at a rate of 0.36 per million miles, versus 3.08 for human drivers.

Humans cause property damage at ~8.5x the rate of Waymos.

How long until insurance premiums reflect the added risk of having a human behind the wheel? Before 2030?
