hmmmm, what completely new thing could they be working on?

Finished a big writing project, so you know what that means… Popeye’s. Not sure why I only eat Popeye’s once I finish a big writing thing, but I’m into it. (Also, super excited about the BRAND NEW THING @stereophobe.bsky.social and I are working on)

I KNOW I've divided both movies and podcasts into categories that allow me to add more but all those categories ARE different. to that end, generation crossing - a concept album meets audio drama - is going in its own bucket

This #AudioDramaSunday, gonna recommend something a bit different. @mikeduncan.bsky.social’s new season of Revolutions, which is, in a break from every other season… fictional! It’s about a revolution on Mars! And it’s fantastic to explore historical parallels in a sci-fi setting.

Very cool!

Happy #AudioDramaSunday friends! I'm halfway through my long train ride back upstate after a weekend with fam, and finally had a chance to write this weeks #BobbysSnacks. In it? I chat that brilliant @draculatdm.bsky.social ep, @dead-signals.bsky.social's amazing Generation Crossing...

For this #AudioDramaSunday, gonna recommend @laurenshippen.bsky.social’s interview with @amandamc.bsky.social on @multitude.productions’s Attach Your Resume. There’s a bunch of really good stuff in here about creating cool audio art in a weird marketplace. open.spotify.com/episode/5UdE...

i mean... they definitely are.

Been binging Archive 81 (the podcast) on my commutes down to Tuscon (halfway through Season 3 at the moment), I have to admit, I'm really liking their commitment to the idea of audio cassette tapes being seemingly the single most powerful occult objects in the universe

(Dread’s a really cool table top rpg game where people build a Jenga tower, and if their character does something risky, they pull a block. If the tower falls, the character dies.)
dead-signals.bsky.social
Anyway, would people be interested in reading that Dread scenario? I’m thinking of putting it as a Patreon exclusive for a month, then making it available for everyone.
dead-signals.bsky.social
It’s set in the period of Generation Crossing with RELIGIOUS FACTIONALISM, and has Io asking people to investigate disturbing reports about the followers of Odom. (The players could not be convinced that Io wasn’t evil, even though Io is a sweetheart. People just don’t trust robots)

So, a few weeks back, @marcsollinger.bsky.social ran a Dread Game set in the Generation Crossing universe for @gejwatts.bsky.social, @stereophobe.bsky.social, Jack Calk and @jochiang.bsky.social. If I wrote up the scenario, would people be interested in playing it?

(Also, in case you were wondering, "Dead Signals" is the name of the Dan/Marc partnership, it's what we release all of our stuff under. We originally created a new social media thing for each project, but dear god, that's exhausting.)

If you want to support the work we do (we're always working on something new), as well as listen to the first audio drama Dan and @marcsollinger.bsky.social ever worked on together. (Marc's college thesis project, btw) You can support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/c/archive81

We also created The Deep Vault, a science-fiction miniseries set in the almost-podcast-apocalypse, centered around a group of friends trying to find safety in a mysterious underground bunker.

We think it's a lot of gonzo fun.

and dives into urban fantasy. There's also two miniseries, one based on the golden age of radio drama, the other centered around Lynchian Americana.

So... a bit different than the Netflix show.

And, don't worry, it's NOT over, Dan and Marc are just waiting for a good moment to continue it.
