Nestling behind a cocktail glass (Christmas present from student days) is the sublime set of Alan Bradley gems about the magnificent Flavia De Luce, alongside Mark Gatiss's trilogy about Edwardian secret agent, Lucifer Box.

Haven't revisited these in a while, maybe I'll dust them off again in 2026!

I'm going to go on a little pre (and post) Christmas tour of my bookshelves, starting with my miscellaneous 'biographies by comedians I like' shelf 😍

Bonus points if you recognise where you might have seen this handsome pigeon (minus his santa hat) on your TV screens...

🎶 I once drunkely poured my heart out to the #TheProclaimers after accosting them at the stage door after a gig.  They were incredibly polite about it

#BackToSchool this week! 📚✏️📆

I posted this a couple of years ago on World Book Day and realise I missed out #ToKillAMockingbird which I was one of my set texts for #GCSE (to long ago to think about 😩😂)

What books did you study and fall in love with?
September 4, 2025 at 10:02 AM
My initial book contained chapters on #AmandaKnox and #JeremyBamber (since developed into books in their own right) but also the #MendendezBrothers, #LizzieBorden, #DarlieRoutier and #JonBenetRamsey

All are controversial cases in their own way.  Any thoughts or opinions?

The @edfringe.bsky.social is over for another year, I hope everyone had a blast! This time 3 years ago we'd just finished our last performance of In Her Defence 🥲

Why not find out more about my characters Catherine and Philip and even check out the script? 👇📖

One of the things I loved most about writing In Her Defence was (very loosely) hiding several #AgathaChristie references within the dialogue 🕵️‍♀️🔎📖

Can you work out what they refer to? 🗝️💭

What do you think happened?

None of us can really know for sure, but that doesn’t stop us from having opinions. I’ve got mine too, of course, but I was happy to see this reviewer felt my book came across as neutral ⚖️

The absolute bliss of being allowed to sit quietly for hours and just read on holiday... two very different books but still finished each of them in pretty much one sitting 🤩

I discuss the Hanratty case in my book on #JeremyBamber as an example of suspected wrongful conviction (backed by John Lennon), later confirmed by DNA. Some still believe he's innocent, showing forensic “slam dunks” aren't always final.

Lindy Chamberlain was convicted of killing her baby, Azaria. Years later, evidence proved a dingo took her, as Lindy always maintained. Yet, many still doubt her. Once we’ve made up our minds, can facts change them?

I’ve been thinking (or overthinking, which I tend to do!) about this a lot recently.  Am I right…?

It’s easy to see why successful appeals (recently, Peter Sullivan for example), could give a much-needed boost in morale to other ongoing campaigns against alleged miscarriages of justice. 🧵

It seems like only yesterday I was ploughing through this pile of research books and last week the proofs of my very own arrived in my inbox!

I've been through with a fine tooth comb and was pleasantly proud re-reading it again for the first time since submission at the end of May...
