I'm not sure about that, a well researched story will always make its way to the public domain. Remember it doesn't have to just be via the Irish Mainstream media, there are a couple of UK papers that would publish a solid story like this. Opus Dei are our version of the Mason's.

What I can't believe is there is no journalist or publication in this country that hasn't mounted a serious investigation into where Steen, the Life institute, the Iona Institute get their funding from and their links with Opus Dei. Surely that is one meaty story for a professional journalist?

Given none of the candidates are any use I think we should all vote for him now so we can force them to run the election again as he won't be able to take the role now he has withdrawn.

I think we have been spoilt in this country for Presidents since Mary Robinson with excellent individuals who have represented us with skill, intellect & panache on the international scene. Whoever wins the next presidential election will be a pale imitation as none of the candidates measure up.

If Peirce, Sinn Fein or other parties want to sort this the General election is where to address this. They failed last time because they did not put forward policies to attract the votes to gain power. With these utterances he is being disingenuous with the purpose of the presidency. 2/2

Pierce Doherty is one annoying dose, he is aware that the Presidential election is about putting someone in position as our lead diplomat and the person to act as a figurehead for the country and they will not have any real power input on housing, cost of living or the cost of electricity. 1/2

Tbh GDPR wouldn't be my first concern about this story. The fact that this person was given access to the Dail when the guards wouldn't pass her from a security perspective is and puts in doubt Connollys judgement and given her other utterances makes her totally unsuitable to be President.

I'm not criticising McDowell and I agree with you his response is reasonable. (Man I have an urge to scrub myself with a wire brush after saying that). It's the nearly wall to wall coverage by the IT and Indo since she fell short is what's grinding my gears.

Why is this dose still getting newspaper coverage. The IT and Indo are infiltrated totally with these Opus Dei throwbacks. She is irrelevant and her backward ideals have been rejected on multiple occasions.
