Suuuuure. You’re swaying the masses via Bluesky. I can feel it. When Trump falls, you’ll be thanked profusely and ready to cosplay Robespierre to thunderous applause for the rest of your life. 🙄

It’s a productive reaction to challenge bad things Trump does, however you interpret his intentions. It’s highly unproductive to post speculation about what his next move might be. Either share your speculation with someone (a lawyer, a leader) who can help, or keep your worst fears to yourself.

These are such fearful little people

More to the point, the entire elite class of the American South in 1861 thought they were “patriots,” and their General’s surrender at Appomattox never convinced them or many of their descendants otherwise.

Or could just be the fifth and last stage of grieving a Democratic “process” gone haywire

I love that I care more about others’ success than my own

Apartheid South Africa is indefensible even in its own terms: one look at the accelerating and desperate legislative architecture confirms that. But yes, I recall well in the 1980s (after Mugabe) the US right warning of a “bloodbath” to come. They had no concept of a Mandela.

Yeah, great job “not” spreading it. Next time try not posting anything.

I’m not disputing your overall point, but taxes on your property assessed by the community in which it stays and needs communal services make way more sense than taxes on income or consumption. Also you have to be *really* fucking rich for your heirs to pay any inheritance tax.

This strikes me as a really dumb take. Permanent ownership of private land trumps collective agency to make it possible for that land to enjoy road and utility access, schools, public safety, etc?
May 8, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Illogical! What was going on prior to January 2020 that wasn’t “strident opposition,” and how did that work out?

They’ll have plenty of soybeans that the Chinese are no longer buying. Maybe they’ll go vegan.

The worst part of this interview isn’t the fundamental deceit; it’s the crushing banality.

Like most monsters, he is afraid.

Wrong. Polling and the consequences of vociferous opposition are uncorrelated. Or the more loudly Trump is cornered and opposed, the more his entrenched screams at his opponents and land some hits. Which then muddles and tunes out the middle. No one is going to rage Trumpism out of existence.

…your sense of morality saved nothing and helped no one, because the choice Americans face in their quadrennial presidential elections intersects with thousands of moral questions, not just one; and yet remains a binary choice.

It’s the logic of people who are capable of operating within reality instead of their idealized fantasy world that doesn’t exist.

Any vote not for Harris was a vote for Trump. That voter is culpable for the mess in which we find ourselves.

In a two-party system, your “conscience” needs to listen harder to your “brain.”
