You just keep on peaceful and filling the house with that good energy. And now you get to find new ways to make a happy life for you and Brian. We're doing this since Gary's mom and sister are both gone. Our life is so much simpler.

You're allowed to feel however you want to feel. It is hard to grieve a parent who wasn't always the parent you needed. Been there done that. While it may seem harsh to say, I'm probably better off now that I didn't have to deal with my dad's bullshit after he died.
