That's so messy the EU would avoid it like the plague.
The Swiss only get it because of their strategic position.
EEU/EFTA only works for small nations with major incomes from one source - Iceland, fish - Norway, oil - Switzerland & Lichtenstein (finance).
Still requires FoM & adherence to EU law.

As for 'tearing the EU apart' - well that was what the Brexiters predicted & hoped for when we left.
Didn't happen did it?
It's up to the EU if, how and when to have us back - I trust them to manage that process better than we did leaving
December 3, 2025 at 5:39 PM
I agree with that last point - it's one I've made myself here a number of times in the past few days.
That's why the end point needs to be full reintegration into the EU. Otherwise like you say we'd have to observe EU laws we had no democratic input into.

Wonder if Brexit would have passed 50% if that option was on the ballot paper?
December 3, 2025 at 5:34 PM
FFS 🙄
December 3, 2025 at 5:33 PM
I'm old enough to remember when that was in the charts
December 3, 2025 at 5:32 PM
Hence the greater proportion of don't knows.
December 3, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Ok I had to eyeball the mild Brexit figure from the chart but it's close to 62%-38% in favour of Rejoin.
And the momentum is all in one direction.
December 3, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Take out the don't knows/won't vote and we're already way past those figures.
December 3, 2025 at 4:46 PM
Problem with that is we really would have to accept EU laws without having any democratic input into them.
There are no actual advantages for us of being in the SM & not the EU
December 3, 2025 at 4:45 PM
'We'?
You're claiming to be a spokesperson for the entire EU?
December 3, 2025 at 4:43 PM
Another person claiming to speak on behalf of the entire EU.
Thing is mate, the negotiations will be with the actual EU - not you.
December 3, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Leaning into the gyg economy I guess.
December 3, 2025 at 4:34 PM
I got that 😂
December 3, 2025 at 4:33 PM
I'm sure they have, although for too long they've tried to turn a blind eye to it
December 3, 2025 at 4:24 PM
If we'd had Starmer & Reeves instead of Churchill we'd have been told we couldn't have afforded to take on the Nazis because it would have broken her fiscal rules.
Plus in any case a lot of people in our country thought Hitler had some good ideas.
Vote Green

Not bad, not particularly good - just what happens to have risen to the top job as people even more rubbish crumble away.
December 3, 2025 at 12:16 AM
I remember the first time I had to look up this word:
'milquetoast'.
That's Starmer in a word.
