For the third time this month, an indiegame has put a massive smile on my face.

Goodnight Universe puts you in the tiny socks of a baby with psychic and telekinetic powers, trying to help the mamma, pappa, and big sis who can’t understand you.

It’s funny, weird, and unexpectedly touching.

I still remember spotting Woodo on socials before it even had a Steam page — and now there’s a demo! (How did I miss that?!)

It's wild seeing it suddenly have a fully narrated story about Foxy and friends. It's like a storybook come to life.

I'll be honest, I've no idea what is happening. I see a planet pop out a volcano like a zit, asteroids mashed together... Let me check out the Steam page real quick.

OH! Build your solar system by hand, crafting planets, atmosphere and even life?!

Say no more.

If anyone can coax a digital soul out of a beautiful board game, it’s Monster Couch. So, Flamecraft feels in very safe claws.

My deck-building fingers are already itching.

Also — DRAGONS!

For a cosy showcase, there’s an awful lot of mayhem 👀

Footsy taps into that childhood urge to boot a football around the living room, consequences be damned. Now you can finally do it without shattering that priceless vase or upsetting grandma.

Peeling a sticker and placing it just right is a tiny ritual — until you spot the wonky edge and take deep breathes.

Little Corners gives you the cosy satisfaction without the air-bubbles… which makes me wonder, are we ready for an imperfect sticker game? 🤔

Guess what? You give a magical chinchilla a bow and arrow and it is still adorable and cute. Never stop little hero.

A totally bonkers magical adventure where you combine spells to chaotic effect? Have I got that right?

I've witnessed a river of lava and turning into a snowball as puzzle solutions in Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times... This could get delightfully messy.

A civilisation on my back would be cause for alarm, so learning to chat with your roaming space-whale home feels wise.

I love city builders that do something different, and Beyond These Stars, built on a bond with a giant cosmic whale, absolutely is different.

It’s not our first glimpse of Over The Hill, but I’ll happily watch its cel-shaded sunsets and muddy off-road trails forever.

From the Art of Rally devs, trading racing stripes for wheels caked in good honest, outdoorsy filth.

Picking which items of a loved one’s life to keep or sell isn’t my go-to idea of fun, yet there’s a sharp narrative angle in deciding what memories an object carries.

Colour me curious about A Storied Life: Tabitha.

😂 Dogpile looks delightfully unhinged, stuffed with wonderfully odd dog designs, and a jazz sax adding to the chaos — hope to hear more of that.

I’m not usually a merge-game person, but I am weak for game-breaking combos. Balatro, this is your fault.

The Regreening calls itself a “A Soilpunk Fairytale,” which is frankly perfect.

There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a grey, brittle landscape pop back into colour. I can already see myself losing hours coaxing life into every corner.

Short and sweet taste of Cozyrama.

It’s been a while. Articles paused, magazines dormant, life happened. So I’m easing back with weekly first-impressions of the games that hook me, and maybe coming back later with full reviews for the ones I love.

Let’s see what wonderful IndieGames we discover!

Back in the Indie Scene with #OneHourIn!

Every Wednesday, I'll hop into games for roughly an hour (or two), writing my first impressions if they stick. First up is Foolish Mortals & My Little Puppy — two IndieGames that had my interest, and now have my undivided attention.

What if there was a curated calendar of indiegames that updated in real time when a release date is updated on Steam?

And this calendar was organised into months with up to date screenshots and trailers?

A lot of long nights went into this. I hope it helps you

I didn't like the last banner I created, so I made a new one using the backgrounds from each inspired IndieGame.

In case it wasn't obvious already, the IndieGames are;
📟 Rue Valley
🐾 Herdling
👀 Gloomy Eyes
🍜 KuloNiku: Bowls Up!
📞 Dispatch

Okay, now I'm writing the article... For real now.

Introducing Poko!

The Dear IndieGames Mascot, full of expression, colour, and sprouting ideas from their head.
Dressed up as some of my favourite IndieGame demos I played during SteamNextFest.

An article with all my thoughts is coming soon, so keep an eye out.

And don't forget to say Hi to Poko!

And just because I'm greedy, another 30 IndieGame demos that had me very curious to learn what else they have in store for us
June 27, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Needless to say, playing THAT many demos and only picking 10? Absurd!

Here are 25 more IndieGames that I can't wait to play when they come out (two already are released!), and it would be criminal not to mention them
June 27, 2025 at 6:49 PM
I did it! I played all the demos I downloaded for Steam Next Fest!

I'm not sure how many it was (I lost count around 120 IndieGames), so maybe 150 demos?

Anyway, it's still June, so I'm counting this as a success.

Here are my TOP 10 favourites!

Don't know who needs to be told this, I certainly do from time to time...

Slow down.

Take a break.

Don't blow yourself up.
