Have you tried calçots? It's a giant onion that you grill and then eat with romesco sauce. Highly recommend.

We made 6,000 of them for the neighborhood yesterday with the Castellers of Barcelona. Fem Calçots, fem barri.

It's Summer Day here in Albania!!

The weather isn't 100% cooperating, but today marks the end of winter for Albanians.

They wear red & white string bracelets, and when they fall off, they throw them in the trees for the birds to use in their nests.

Please join me in wishing Anabelle (my second passport) a happy retirement. After 76 stamps, 26 countries (maybe?, I don't really count), & 2 visas, the day has come for her to spend the rest of her time on this planet buried in a pouch in my luggage, just in case.

Bunk'Art 2, a museum about the dictatorship in Tirana, Albania, has one of the cleverest and relevant exhibits I've ever seen.

They related optical illusions to specific techniques used by the dictatorship to distort reality and maintain control.
