My library has both of these books cataloged as"Science Fiction" and they both have one thing in common and I'll let you take a guess. It's not that they are both Horror Novels.... #Trans #Horror

The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre by Philip Fracassi Open Discussion:
Unhinged slasher junk food: audacious kills, deranged POVs, fake supernatural twists, and a finale that works

I picked this one up based on the title alone lmao It sounds pretty good based on the synopsis and apparently Stephen King cosigned it.

I just finished this series and I would love more than anything to ramble with someone about Isaac Marion.

I got this book through an interlibrary loan and it turns out it's a signed copy @isaacmarion.bsky.social

My copy of The Living by Isaac Marion came in today. The Burning World will go down as one of my all time favorite books so my expectations for this one are fairly high. Marion might actually be one of my all time favorite authors tbh. Needless to say this is what's next for me.

I had a tough time picking which of the next three I have lined up to read. I'm gonna go with Middle Spoon just to switch up the genre and hope that this one is more drama than devastating. I've read a couple recently that just rip your heart out of your chest. I hope this one doesn't do that.

The Ghost Of Belfast Open Discussion: I enjoyed this. I thought it was incredibly unique and for it being Stuart Neville's debut novel it is a strong example of his creativity and writing style. I'm a big fan of anything he writes at this point.

Dogs by C. Mallon Open Discussion: This is such a devastating read. It's all of about 200 pages but, it is an effectively written novel. The synopsis does not prepare you for the content of this book. I'm excited for what C. Mallon does in the future.

I completely forgot what this book is about. I checked it out a couple weeks ago and I'm just now getting to it. It has the earliest due date so that's the main reason I'm starting it now.

The Whistler by Nick Medina Open Discussion: I enjoyed this. I wish I knew before reading the Acknowledgement that this was a continuation of another story. Roddy is apparently in "Indian Burial Ground". #TheWhistler #booksky #horror #books #NickMedina

Mercy by Joan Silber Open Discussion: I have some mixed emotions about this one but, I enjoyed it. I just wish the different perspectives were affected by the core event or that characters crossed each other's paths a little more. #Mercy #JoanSilber #booksky #books #novel

Next up, The Whistler by Nick Medina. I saw this one at the library a couple weeks ago. Looked interesting. There was another book in the same wheel house that I was thinking about putting on hold and when I saw this I just decided to pick it up.
