CORRECTION: New evidence has shown that the Charlie Kirk shooter is most likely a leftist. The fact still remains that the vast majority of politically motivated shootings are committed by the far right.

In other words, I completely understand the urge to mock the death of Charlie Kirk. There are many ironies to be uncovered and jokes to be made.

In fact, one could say that in death, Charlie Kirk became one of the things he hated most: a gender-neutral bathroom.
Rest in piss, Charlie Kirk.

Mocking someone's death demonstrates a massive amount of disrespect that almost no-one deserves. However, I also believe someone who sells out their humanity for power and influence (as Kirk did) forfeits any right to respect.

(Separate-ish thought)
There have been a lot of people who have been celebrating Charlie Kirk's death. There's been some dark humor pointing out the morbid irony of him promoting gun violence, and subsequently dying to gun violence at a College campus.

The legacy of Charlie Kirk has been the promotion of gun violence and hatred across the US. He openly inspired violence towards minority communities - most notably the trans and immigrant communities.

The fact that the death of Charlie Kirk (who was a rancid individual who willingly made it his career to spread hatred and bigotry) overshadowed the death of two innocent kids, and one kid who fell victim to right-wing radicalization deeply disturbs me.

I am not happy with how Charlie Kirk died. The violent, public death of a right wing political figure will inevitably lead the right wing in the US to become even more violent and extreme.
However, neither do I mourn his death.

In fact, shootings have been, and continue to be a huge problem in the US, thanks to a lack of gun regulation and mental healthcare.
Charlie Kirk is, to a degree, responsible for the extreme gun violence we see today.
That is to say, Charlie Kirk is not blameless in his own death.

The previous day, there was a shooting at Evergreen High School in Colorado, that left 3 people (the shooter - who died by suicide - and two others) dead. From what I can gather, this is yet another case of far-right extremist violence.

This is a pretty funny Onion article.

I had this same reaction reading the Guardian article. It's a small victory still; but unfortunately, it is not nearly enough. The people who are detained there should be freed immediately and paid reparations. The people responsible for the camp should be imprisoned.

Screenshot; don't repost (repost your friends, screenshot your enemies). Also, these trolls thrive on attention, so usually the best course of action is to just block, report (if egregious enough), and move on.

I greatly appreciate your efforts to address the atrocities happening in Gaza. However, I think it is important to point out that what's happening isn't just a "humanitarian crisis" but a genocide. It is a systematic, exterminationist campaign against Palestinian civilians.

"... But not everyone gives. So Kamala Harris and Democrats everywhere are counting on people like you who understand the stakes to chip-in. What do you say? ..."

Hmm... what do I say? 'Fuck off' seems like a pretty appealing response. You've proven yourselves worthless in the fight against fascism

"... If everyone getting this text donated to the DNC today, they would have the resources they need and not have to ask again for months. ..."

Why should I trust you to use those resources in a competent manner when your actions until now have demonstrated an inability or unwillingness to do so?
