Another good point that happened today is that I’m back to yearly check ups instead of 6 monthly so let’s see how this goes.

constant pins and needles, problems with my voice and trouble sleeping (there’s more symptoms as well).

It may still seem a lot but the point of the surgery was to try to stabilise me at the point I am now for as long as possible which hopefully will happen

The surgery has helped and shrunk my syrinx so it’s not a fat sausage anymore but a skinny spaghetti now.

I will still have pain, nerve damage, trouble with my balance and unsteady walking, problems with my eyes, legs, hands, tinnitus, hearing loss, brain fog, head aches, difficulty swallowing

The op I had was Chiari decompression and it was to try and shrink the syrinx that was the length and width of my spinal cord.

Chiari Decompression surgery is where I’ve had my C1 vertebra and also part of my skull removed to try and ‘make room’ for my brain.
