Lila cat would jump into the fridge when she was a baby!

She both grew out of it and I got a new fridge with the freezer on the bottom so it was harder for her to carry out her shenanigans.

I don’t know if my ancestor was there, but my 3rd great grandfather was with the 114th Pennsylvania Regiment as a musician of all things!

Chloe cat isn’t into newspapers but she does love reading about statistical methods.

The cat apocalypse may be upon us!

Almost every in person workday I drive along Mulholland Drive to get between canyons. Tonight, this was my reward (taken during a brief moment of traffic)! A view of the sunset across the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles.

So far Chloe cat is really intrigued by Ken Burns new documentary for PBS on the Revolutionary War. #HATM

Lila cat acting nonchalant while her older sister Chloe threatens to throw up a fur ball (out of sight) on the other side of our new rug.

BTW, I’d pay a small fortune if someone could teach them to throw up on the tile or hardwood floors instead!

During my past life, we had an indy film company called DViant Films. We mostly shot in Canada where my now ex-husband is from.

I just discovered that our film Collaborator, which won best actor and the FIPRESCI at Karlovy Vary, is streaming for free on Prime.

In July I was able to attend a donors event that included a screening of highlights and a Q&A for Ken Burns documentary on The American Revolution. It was amazing to hear Ken and his colleagues, but even more moving was a speech made by Andrew Russell of PBS SoCal.

We need to keep PBS alive!

Chloe has already had extra treats, but she’s trying to use her calico jedi powers to get more.

“Mom, you are next to the pantry. You want to give me more treats. Giving me treats brings you joy!”

Caturday everyday.

My dad’s uncle Pasqualino died in France.

I believe the family brought him back to Massachusetts but my parents still made a point to visit Normandy, see one of the cemeteries, and talk with survivors. It was a powerful experience for my dad.

When my dad was a teen he enlisted in the navy reserves and trained to be a radar operator because the test said he loved to talk. He was called up to active duty and served at Pearl Harbor and in Japan. Later he joined the FAA.

Two years ago we buried him at Miramar National Cemetery. #veteransday

I was going to run another statistical model for my dissertation tonight but my cat started grabbing my hand. Lila cat is a firm believer in work/grad school/cat time balance.
