🌱 #gardening

Announcing this year’s winner of the “last plant flowering in my NH backyard” contest. This girl came up from seed this year and started flowering late.

A few other things still have a few flowers, but very scraggly and end of season.

I still have a few flowers that have survived <32, and there are still some bees on them. The bees are getting slow…

Bittersweet growing through a red burning bush. Feels like a metaphor for our current political situation?

This is not my bush, or I would not have been able to resist, pulling out the bittersweet . Lol and maybe the burning bush too.

The last bits of summer - a migrating sandpiper (I think), a frog, a multicolored orange/pink coneflower and a moth on mint flowers.

Garden is winding down, I’m starting to collect seeds & plant bulbs

I second this. Much lower fat content and still tastes like peanuts. Good with plain Greek yogurt, fruit, and a little granola for breakfast. add a little almond milk to make it less thick.

Beautiful heron standing in a field of lily pads, NH

My dog loses his mind when he sees the heron, but even he knows the heron is badass.

Lots of bees today:

A very happy 10yo limelight hydrangea

A somewhat sad tree hydrangea with white-pink blossoms that I sadly planted in a spot that’s too shady. I’m hoping it can adapt to the spot and I don’t have to move it

Russian sage

Veronica “royal candles”
