Yes, he is and was when he ran for the Presidency in 2016. It was during that time he discovered he also held Cdn citizenship and promptly renounced it, so no longer holds such.

You've been misinformed. He's never even had a Cdn passport to renew as he only found out he held Canadian citizenship when running for the Presidency in 2016 and promptly renounced it.

The US doesn't even rank in the top 15 countries in the world on the GLOBAL Democracy Index — European nations & Canada hold all the top spots — and it's not even classified as a "full" democracy anymore; it fell to "flawed" on such in 2016 coinciding with Trump's arrival on the political scene.

Not only is Franklin a beloved Cdn children's book character that inspired kids for generations to embrace kindness, empathy & inclusivity, it's author & illustrator are both Members of the Order of Canada, one of the highest civilian honours bestowed for outstanding service to the nation, etc.
