"We choose to go to the Moon not because it is easy, but because it is Mars."
Physics terms are catnip to dinguses who envision themselves as superior intellects over others. Saying Special Words makes them Smart Special Physicists who you have no choice but to respect. Facilitated by popsci misrepresenting similes meant to bridge knowledge gaps as actual physics concepts.

Direct hit at Venus (+ JUICE), but a miss at Mars and Earth. Darn! kauai.ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov/DONKI/view/W...

Am not an expert, but my hypothesis is hedging. Oil has a limited longterm economic lifespan with more exposure to international conflict, and solar/wind are under political headwinds. So nuclear is used to shore up a position in energy.

And there was nothing provocative or mean about what you said! You were just advocating for your mentee! That's a kind thing to do, and it's not without risk or effort. I hope you keep on doing it

Hey, stop that. Advocating and fighting for your mentees is always a good thing, and the right thing, to do.

Huh. Stating random numbers as if they are facts, and with nearly the exact phrasings posted earlier, it's... very chat bot esque.

I mean, you're kinda the odd one here. You're responding to a post observing the absurdity of folks insisting that BlueSky is a place for Bad People (tm) when you have to specifically follow them, and you are going "YES, BlueSky is a place of Bad People (tm)".

As much as the subject matter sounds grueling, I'm excited for new video! Just rewatched your Beatles analysis while making a chocolate cake, really appreciate your analytical approach and synthesis.

Let's not do this. It's counterproductive to chastise PS for being incomplete. NASA was made into a swiss army knife of R&D over years. Mentioning every single function under threat would fill a document >400 pages long -- incidentally, that's how long the FY26 NASA Budget Technical Supplement is.
