A French convertible, or maybe a drink without caffeine
I like Neo (and Neo Wood), but Staunty is the GOAT piece set for me.

I also play this opening sometimes, when I mean to play d4 center game but mouseslip

Lichess actually has enough built in to teach how the pieces move, how to checkmate in common piece endgames, etc.

Personally, I found Levy Rozman's how to win at chess to be really good, because it can be followed completely without having a board set up. It is >50 p, but covers basic-ibtermediate

I like playing chess, but it is really not useful for determining mental fitness.

I really like how they came out with no seam or line from the resin pour, although I would probably remove the ball shape from the top of the king's crown.

The flakes look beautiful in the black pieces.

The size and weight isn't super critical for casual play as long as the pieces generally don't topple easily. For plastic or wood pieces, it is typical to have a cavity in the bottom of each piece that accommodates a metal weight, which is covered by felt.

Magnets are practical for travel sets, and this size is right for a typical travel set.

It's hard to make that work when the outcomes aren't scripted.

Nevertheless, there have been personalities. There's a dude who plays chess wearing a full checkered suit at IM level (Rey Enigma). Hungrybox played up a heel role when fans thought his play style was boring.

Can you elaborate on the construction method and materials?

Standard size for tournament play has a king about 3.5 - 4 inches tall, but these look to be smaller if I had to guess.

I meant Nb6 above earlier

In the next few turns, you can try to develop the other knight from its starting square and also push your f pawn to f5 which may open the file in front of white's king.

I hope I'm not giving advice on a currently ongoing game btw. Outside assistance would be unfair to your bro.

Right now, your b pawn is vulnerable. Nb3 would stand in front of it, and also reveal an attack on the white Queen from your light square bishop.

Ironically, the chess club I usually attend on Wednesday nights is canceled

I searched around online, and the only events I could find were at 770 and one random shul in Brooklyn (with Chinese food and standup comedy).

Would love to see this more widespread as an organized event

I made my next appointment for January 3rd :(

Still happy to help 🅾️➕🩸

Despite their tripled pawns, black has a mate in two on the board!

You use lichess in LIGHT MODE?

I think rapid ratings are significantly higher for everyone on lichess though, just because of the number of games and statistics?

In most apps, games against bots don't influence your online rating to match other players.

Which one is he playing on currently?

I'm surprised the article made no mention of live traps. I prefer to catch and "deport" mice (and one time a squirrel) rather than handling their dead bodies. Even when double bagging them on the trash, it's quite nasty.

I have never lost a game against any GM

Garry has some bad takes once in a while (such as trying to coin NFTs, or fear mongering about Zohran Mamdani), but I think he's respectable and generally well spoken.

What did he do to earn your hate?

The solution is:

...Qxd4!
Qxd4 Nxc2+

We exchange Queens, take one of white's central pawns, prevent white from castling, and place our knight on a central square

I think this makes sense lol. I stand very little chance of beating a 2000 rated player in a game in any time format. I never deserved the 2500+ puzzle rating they gave me.
