This unexpectedly turned up today. Had no idea that it had been posted yet so it was a very pleasant surprise. Might continue my Parasite Eve playthrough on there after I've set it up over the weekend.

I love this map and the way it reflects the day/night cycle.

Something new, to me at least. A dear friend bought this for me for Christmas a long time ago but I haven't gotten around to it until now.

As a native Londoner this track in Cruis'n Blast had me laughing like a drain, in a good way. The sheer spectacle of seeing the London Eye rolling around the track completely caught me off guard.

Best of all, "Carnaby Dash" is nowhere near Carnaby Street. Pure dumb fun.

Slightly irritated to discover that my smoke black #8bitdo SNES controller has spontaneously developed cracks in the plastic near the thinnest point between the screws and the edge of the casing. I don't mistreat my controllers. Heard that the same thing happened to a lot of Analogue Pockets.

Time to set sail...

Went in for a fun little time before dinner, ended up shouting at Metal Sonic for spamming that throw.

Now dinner is late!

Saw the credits roll last night but it looks like there's a fair amount of endgame stuff left over. Going to tie up a few loose ends but otherwise ready to put this to bed. Enjoyed it very much overall.

Just saw an NTSC-U PS1 I returned to a seller last year relisted on eBay. Sold to me in 100% working order and "fully tested", yet when it failed to power on I saw that the caps on the PSU had been blown for ages. Not sure how they did any testing when it was in this state.

Really liked this so far but boy, I'm not enjoying the story at all after the reveal. Bit of a rug pull. Also being set up to face a really irritating, spammy boss for the third time and I'm at the point where I just want to finish and move on.

Can finally dig into this, now that I've finished all of the mainline Resident Evil games and don't have to worry about spoilers.

These little captions during the campfire interactions remind me of Nier so much.

Really enjoying the characters in this. Refreshing to hear relatively natural dialogue between them, as well as genuine warmth.

Remember being surprised that I completed this at my cousin's house. I didn't tend to finish games back then.

Also didn't realise that this got an Atari Jaguar version!

I don't mind fun little references like this occasionally but they can snap you right back out of a world that you're losing yourself in sometimes.

I love the way Lune glides along in mid-air instead of physically sprinting. I've had so many dreams where I've been able to do the same.

This encounter did not end well. Tooted to death, I was.

Time to recover from the psychic damage of the working week.

Between this and the guy hiding in a bin, I'm already enjoying the writing in this one.

Let's see what all this GOTY business is about, then.

Don't usually play DLC but this was okay. Leaning into the creepy doll aesthetic and stealth sections turned me off a bit, as well as some bait and switch elements to the tasks, annoying enemies (with a long reach) and one tedious boss fight.

Diverting for a few hours though.

Anyway, I've now completed every main game in the RE series for the first time, so I'm prepared for Requiem next month. It has been a lot of fun. Safe to say that I'm more of a fan of the classic games with the tank controls instead of the action-oriented direction that 4 took the series in.

As this was a lot more "cinematic" I often felt like I was barely playing the game, with lots of scripted scenes peppering the playthrough. Normal difficulty is also astonishingly easy. I died about three times and two of those were down to instadeath as a result of timing on a particular puzzle.
