I wouldn't count on it, if I were him!
"Truth" posted by President Trump:

"The word is, and it's a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone. These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It's really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!"

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

I am never going to be a fan of a politician. That way lies disappointment. But Pritzker right now is the person I think is calibrating it right.

This isn’t negotiating about social security with W. You either get that or you don’t.

Everyone can set aside partisanship, psychologizing, pathologizing, whatever, and—I would hope—still see that it’s incredibly dangerous for a political leader to be this disconnected from the real conditions in the country.

Had a couple of opportunities -- podcast interview, pre-concert talk for a decently famous artist -- because of friends met through social media

I also made Conor Friedersdorf mad. That was pretty great

Sounds about right

I'm wondering if there is work out there (by you or others) about the enshittification paradigm applied to Spotify and music streaming

Certainly seems like the population of Spotify playlists with fake AI music fits the bill!

Pro tip for the orange dude: if you want the Nobel peace prize, best not to nuke random Venezuelan fishing boats from orbit, and send the National Guard (and almost the 82nd Airborne) into random American cities for no earthly reason

Sorry, but in my defense, it's fun to dunk on this list

David Duke-ass list

Forget about Muddy Waters at 12, Robert Johnson at 19(!), no Charley Patton at all(!!) -- not a single classic blues queen (Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Clara Smith etc.)
8 Jimi Hendrix
9 Peter Green
10 Joanne Shaw Taylor
11 John Lee Hooker
12 Muddy Waters
13 Howlin' Wolf
14 Buddy Guy
15 Janis Joplin
16. Beth Hart
17 John Mayall
18 Jimmy Page
19 Robert Johnson

I circled Muddy Waters at #12, put "WTF" next to it; circled Robert Johnson at #19, with LOL next to it

Holy fuck, the Republicans are finally in disarray, for the very first time ever (lol)

Is it possible that the "Dems in disarray" media formulation has nothing to do with media bias, or their being afraid of being labeled as too liberal?

Could it just be that they like alliteration?
decmusicology.bsky.social
It is the only way that Republicans can avoid getting caught in mind-numbing political contradictions or having to address the Trump administration's world-historical levels of cringe

"I haven't read it"
"I haven't seen the Tweet"
"I'm not up to speed on that"
"Attorney General who?"

I never really had a good read on how conservative the Guardian Angels set are. Are we talking MAGA-level rightist? Is it selective racism/vigilantism on crime, but socially liberal on other things?
decmusicology.bsky.social
Another thing wholly consistent with everyone in this administration being mentally five years old is the amazingly credulous description he gives of D.C. crime having been hell on earth a few weeks ago and singlehandedly eradicated by National Guard troops stomping around

He is sporting a single-breasted suit with a large polka-dot bowtie; his hands are thrown up in the spirit of the groove.
