My Codex Wrapped 2025 ✨

You can clearly see when Opus 4.5 came around. But I got and still get a lot of value from my Codex subscription!

Obsession beats talent every single time.

Unpopular opinion. The best gift is a canceled meeting.

Merry Christmas! 🎄

May your uptime be high and your latency low. 🥂

Explaining to my family that "Prompt Engineering" is a real part of the job is the hardest part of the holidays.

The only person brave enough to deploy to production tonight is Santa.

The two states of Christmas break.

1. I will finally build that side project.
2. I will sleep, drink wine, and eat my body weight in cheese.
December 24, 2025 at 5:46 PM
`git push origin main --force` then close the laptop.

That's the real Christmas spirit.

The fastest way to understand AI:
build something, break something, fix something.

Theory follows practice.
December 23, 2025 at 9:07 PM
Ugh, I hate when Opus 4.5 does this.

It couldn't find the root cause, so it decides on its own to rewrite the test with stubs to force a pass. It didn't fix the bug. It just silenced the alarm.

Green lights, zero value. 🫠

A prompt engineer is sort of a machine whisperer.

Demis Hassabis talks about "compressing the 21st century" of scientific discovery into the next 10 years.

While everyone fights over better chatbots, the real benefit for society will come from AI looking at biology and materials science.

AI makes mediocre code cheaper. A lot.

Good engineering still costs good money, because in the end, somebody must care.
December 21, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Smart people use AI as a sparring partner.
Lazy people use it as a ghostwriter.

GitStory is basically Spotify Wrapped for your impostor syndrome.

It turns your commit history into a movie and you suddenly realize:
“Oh, I did ship. A lot.” 🎬

Founder life: learning to market without turning into someone you would mute yourself.

The most dangerous competitor to a billion-dollar incumbent is a bored student with a free weekend.

They have no respect for your moat.
They only care about making the script work.

The Gemini 3 update is live. Flash, Thinking, Pro.

Time to feed it some messy prompts and see where it sweats. 🤩

Founder life is a simple endless loop:
build, sell, support, regret, improve, repeat.
December 16, 2025 at 8:01 PM
Most agent failures are not model failures.
They are product failures pretending to be AI.

Founder mood:

Morning, “we are back.”
Evening, “we are so over.”

Repeat daily.

We need more "slow software."
Software that respects your attention.

No pings. No gamification. Just a tool doing its job, then getting out of the way.

Silence is a feature.
December 15, 2025 at 5:45 PM
AI makes everyone faster.

So the slowest part becomes decisions, and decisions become the real moat.

POV: You think your client's campaign went viral.

Then you check the logs and realize you're being hammered by a Russian botnet because you host a European energy provider.

I suppose getting DDOSed by a nation-state hacker group is a badge of honor? A very annoying badge tho.
