The Civil Rights Movement forced change, but not transformation. Racism didn’t disappear; it went underground, into redlining, mass incarceration, and implicit bias.

Even after emancipation, racism didn’t end, it evolved. Reconstruction’s promise was crushed by Jim Crow laws, racial terror, and legal segregation.

White supremacy was the logic that justified it all, backed by distorted theology, junk science, and profit. America didn’t just practice racism; it required racism to function.

Slavery wasn’t a moral failing of a few, it was the economic engine of the new nation. Cotton, tobacco, sugar… all fueled by stolen labor and Black suffering.

The Constitution didn’t just permit slavery,it institutionalized it. Enslaved people were counted as three-fifths of a person to strengthen white political power.

Freedom and equality were proclaimed as “unalienable rights”… while millions were enslaved. The contradiction wasn’t hidden, it was written into our founding documents.

To be intellectually honest, we must admit: a nation founded on chattel slavery based on skin color was built on a racist premise. That’s not opinion, it’s history.
