Would've liked to see some improvements to the standard RT but still excited to try out the patch, recently bought a controller just because I wasn't liking how the vehicles felt while driving with KB/M, gonna be fun to try out the new cars with the new controller.

Improved standard RT pls 🙏

In the right hands, UE5 can produce some truly amazing results.

DLSS in this game is pretty bad tbh, usually DLSS is the best solution for ghosting but in this game even FSR and TAA has less ghosting, I was hoping rockstar would've solved this with the new update :/

Honestly the standard RT in this game is already so good, so the gains from PT isn't as impressive imo compared to PT in like cyberpunk or F1 25.

require upscaling.

6700xt is on par with console hardware, a bit faster, base consoles are similar to a 6700 non-xt, but around the same performance tier.
June 16, 2025 at 10:48 AM
Lower settings on PC is what consoles tend to run games at.

If the devs made the tradeoff with the resolution, to get the extra performance budget to be able to run those settings on a console-

then running similar settings on PC with hardware that has similar performance to consoles would also-

well devs are going to do what most players want and most players dont care about how many pixels are actually being rendered, they want denser environments, better lighting, etc, and devs are going to make that tradeoff, give up some resolution and use that performance to enhance other aspects.
June 16, 2025 at 7:43 AM
whats wrong with using upscaling? games have been using some form of upscaling since the 360 era, developers arent going to waste performance on rendering more pixels when most players don't care about it and would rather have that performance be used for other aspects like density and lighting.

I mean yeah? that is what ive been saying. not just the cost of maintaining it, even things like getting experienced devs to maintain it and also have to deal with teaching new hires how to work with tools of the in house engine instead of just hiring someone who is familiar with UE tools.

I guess unity is more flexible, but mostly because it offers fewer capabilities. In the end, it comes down to what the engine is being used for, with smaller scope projects, sure, unity works. But for larger or in CDPR's case, multiple projects at once, unreal is a pretty great option.
June 15, 2025 at 3:21 PM
And from there, the studio can modify it however they want to make whatever game they want to.
June 15, 2025 at 1:56 PM
The engine isn't going to be viable out of the box for every single game you want to make on it, but thats why you have full access to its source code, this is what Split Fiction did, they had to modify sequencer to make split screen work. I think it provides a good base for a studio to start with-
June 15, 2025 at 1:55 PM
And if there is something about the engine that is causing issues for a game thats being developed on it, the studios have access to the full source code so they can just modify it, like Split Fiction had to modify sequencer in UE5 to make split screen work.
June 15, 2025 at 11:41 AM
My understanding is that the engine itself is pretty great and a lot of the issues that we see like traversal stutter is because of how studios use it, like a common issue is with something called actors and devs use it on things that dont need to be actors like static objects which causes overhead.

The fact that dlss is upscaling from sub 1080p but is still able to hold its own and in some cases even provide better image quality than the Xbox rendering at 1440p is insane.
June 15, 2025 at 3:30 AM
Rockstar delaying GTA 6 makes a lot more sense now, they just didn’t want to compete with MindsEye.
June 14, 2025 at 9:42 AM
Been playing witcher 3 with transformer model, motion clarity is so much better with the transformer model and my understanding is that there is a lot more they can do with this transformer model approach, excited to see how it advances.
June 12, 2025 at 3:50 AM
its definitely one of the games of all time
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 PM
it has access to dlss no? the image quality is gonna be great then, would be interesting to see some comparisons between the switch 2 and base consoles, does the better upscaling make up for the lower resolution or maybe even in some cases provide a better image quality

I'm expecting some hints and teases for the sequel will be added with this patch
