Absolutely, at least when people know they're working with an actor.

In other cases, there's an element of deception like in The Farewell, where the lie is justified (at least, in theory) for the emotional good of the person being deceived.

This happens all the time when classics appear on TV in newer movies, and it drives me crazy too.
